Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These are the terms you agree to when you use Stella Memoria. We have kept them short and in plain language. Where something is a real limit, we say so plainly rather than hiding it in a long sentence.
1. Who we are
Stella Memoria is operated by:
ALTA NOTA S.R.L. Trade Register number: J2026055297002 · Tax identification number (CUI): 55616505 Share capital: 500 RON Email: forever@stellamemoria.com
A person reads that address.
The full identification details required of an online service provider are on our Legal notice page.
2. What we provide
A memorial page for someone who has died: their name, dates, photographs, a voice recording, the stories you write, and a place where family and friends can add their own memories, light a candle or leave a flower.
Optionally, we write to you on the days that matter — an anniversary, a birthday, a religious remembrance — so that you are not the only one keeping the date.
3. Who can use it
You must be at least 16 years old to create a page or make a payment.
When you create a page for someone who has died, you confirm that you are entitled to do so — that you are family, or close enough that no one would reasonably object. We cannot verify this, and we rely on you. If a family member tells us a page should not exist, we will contact whoever created it and, if the dispute is genuine, we may take the page offline while it is resolved.
4. What you pay
Our prices are set in euros. The prices of memorial pages, remembrance letters, the memorial film, the farewell film and the add-ons include VAT.
At payment, our payment provider may show you the amount in your own currency. It calculates it at the exchange rate shown, which includes a currency conversion fee of 2–4%. You can choose to pay in euros instead; then no conversion fee is added. Your bank may still apply its own exchange rate or fees. Please check the currency and total before you pay.
| A memorial page for a person | €129, once |
| A memorial page for a pet | €69, once |
| A second page for the same family | €64.50, for a person's page only |
| Remembrance letters | €19 a year, optional, from the second year, cancel any time |
| Memorial film | €800 |
| Farewell film | €89 |
| Voice add-on | €25 |
| Photo animation add-on, including restoration | €39 |
| Documentary film | 2 × €400: one payment to start, one when you approve the draft |
| Extra Documentary correction round | €49 per round, open for 12 months |
By ordering the voice add-on, you confirm that the voice you upload belongs to a beloved person who has passed away, not to a living person.
Documentary narrator voice: for a documentary film, the recording you upload must be of a living person (you or a family member) who agrees to narrate the film. It is used only to read that film's text and is deleted 30 days after the final film is ready.
Payment is handled by our payment provider. Lighting a candle and leaving a flower are free, and always will be.
The page itself is a one-time payment. The remembrance letters are the only recurring charge, they are optional, and if you stop paying them the letters stop — the page does not change and nothing is lost.
5. Refunds
If you change your mind about a memorial page, write to us within 30 days of paying and we will refund you in full. You can also request it from your page settings, where you choose whether the page should be hidden or deleted.
This is more generous than the law requires for digital services that start immediately, and we would rather you had it. Anything we make for you — a generated voice recording, a photo animation, a Farewell film — cannot be refunded once it has been made or delivered, because the work is done. For these items, we repair a real technical fault, or refund if we cannot.
A documentary film has its own rule: until you tick "OK, FINAL corrections", you can still cancel and receive your first payment back in full, even after you have seen all your previews and corrections. To cancel, write to us. When you tick, you tell us this is the film you want made final; from that moment there is no refund for a change of mind, and the right of withdrawal ends. The second payment then opens and your final film is made. A further correction to a Documentary after the final film costs €49 and is not refunded. If the film has a real technical problem, we make it again until it is right; if we truly cannot repair it, we refund it. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Your statutory right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days, without giving a reason. If you are in the United Kingdom, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you an equivalent 14-day right.
The period ends 14 days after the day you place your order. To exercise it, tell us clearly that you are withdrawing — an email to forever@stellamemoria.com is enough. You may use the model withdrawal form, but you do not have to. We will refund you within 14 days of being told, using the same means of payment you used.
Two things the law asks us to say plainly. When you create your page and we publish it straight away, you are asking us to begin the service during the withdrawal period — and once a digital service has been fully supplied with your prior express consent, the statutory right of withdrawal ends. Where a service has been partly supplied, we may deduct a proportionate amount.
For a paid memorial page (Forever or Pet), our own 30-day refund promise above is wider than the statutory right. A documentary film follows its own rule, described above. We would rather give the money back than argue about which of the two applies.
The full wording, the conditions and the model withdrawal form are on the Right of withdrawal page.
6. What you may put on a page
Anything true about a person you loved, and nothing that harms someone living.
Specifically, do not upload: material you have no right to use; content that is unlawful, threatening or harassing; private information about living people who have not agreed to it; or anything intended to humiliate someone.
You are responsible for what you and your contributors publish. Contributions from other people come to you for approval before they appear — that is your protection as much as ours.
If we are told that a page breaks these rules, we will look at it. If it does, we will ask you to change it, and if it is serious or you will not, we may take it offline. We will always tell you why, and you can always export everything on it first.
Anyone — you, a family member, a stranger — can tell us about something on this site that should not be there. How to do that, and what happens afterwards, is on the Report content page.
7. Who owns what
You own what you write and upload. The stories, the photographs, the recordings — they remain yours, and ours only in the sense that we hold them for you.
You give us permission to store, display and back up that material for the purpose of running your page, and to show it to whoever you have chosen: the whole internet, only people with the link, or only family. That permission ends when you delete the page.
We own the site itself — its design, its words, its code.
8. Deleting, hiding, and getting your material out
You can take your page offline at any time, free, and put it back later.
You can delete it entirely. Deletion takes effect after seven days, and we email you a link to cancel it during those days, because people delete things on bad nights and regret it in the morning.
At any point you can download a ZIP with everything on the page — texts, photographs, recordings, contributions and tributes. You do not have to ask, and you do not have to be leaving.
9. How long the page lasts
This is the promise the product is built on, so it deserves a plain answer.
A memorial page has no expiry date. You pay once, it stays online, and there is no renewal we can fail to charge you for and no anniversary on which it quietly disappears. We do not delete pages for inactivity.
We cannot promise that a company will exist forever — no one honestly can. What we commit to is this: if Stella Memoria were ever to stop operating, we would give at least 90 days' notice by email to every page owner, and keep the export working throughout that period, so that nothing is lost without warning and everything can be taken elsewhere.
10. When things go wrong
We work to keep the site running and your material safe, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. Keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable — the export exists for exactly this reason. If you have one voice recording of your father, it should live in more than one place, and that is true whichever service you use.
If we fail you, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your statutory rights as a consumer, which these terms do not replace.
11. Your privacy
What we do with your information — what we collect, who processes it, how long we keep it, and what you can take back — is set out in our Privacy Policy. What runs in your browser, and what deliberately never runs on a memorial page, is in the Cookie Policy.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Prices already paid are not affected by later price changes.
13. If we disagree
Write to us first: forever@stellamemoria.com. Most things are a misunderstanding that one honest email settles, and we would rather refund you than have you feel cheated.
If that does not resolve it, you can use alternative dispute resolution instead of going to court. As a company established in Romania, we are subject to the Romanian consumer protection authority's ADR scheme (SAL), run by ANPC — anpc.ro/ce-este-sal, complaints at reclamatiisal.anpc.ro, telephone 021 9551.
If you live elsewhere in the European Union, the European Consumer Centre in your own country will help you with a complaint against a trader in another member state, free of charge. There is one in every EU country, and they talk to each other.
14. Law
These terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protections of the law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings before the courts there.
